Promotional products are a 21 billion dollar industry and it continues to grow. There is an enormous range of products available for clients to use in their quest to develop brand recognition and customer loyalty. These promotional items are purchased to give away free at events or tradeshows or to use as employee recognitions. These awards, corporate gifts, or giveaways will always make their way into the recipient’s homes or offices. If used effectively, these branded products will create a lasting impression on the audience targeted.

What are the factors that make a promotional product effective?

The first factor is the product itself. Second is the design and decoration. This is what catches the audience’s eye and conveys the message the organization is trying to express. If it sloppy, unattractive, jarring in colour or poorly executed, it can leave the opposite of the positive impression you were hoping to imprint.

At Clearmount, we use many different ways to decorate our Lucite awards, corporate gifts, and SIGG water bottles. We can embed actual product, findings and acetates inside the Lucite. Laser Engraving Designs Customized for You

Laser engraving is one of my personal favorites to work with. It is versatile and unique. We have engraved on wood, plastic, metal and glass. Virtually any material can be lasered.

What is laser engraving?

Artwork is sent to a laser machine that is programmed to etch out logos and art designs onto metal or other materials. There is no colour; it actually darkens the metal lasered which contrasts with the original metal colour. On wood, lasering leaves a darkened burn affect. On glass, it has a white-etched look. It is possible to colour-fill the etching on glass, but that is an altogether different technique

At Clearmount, we generally laser artwork designs that clients have created themselves onto SIGG water bottles. We have laser engraved logos on:

Tips for Laser-Engraving Promotional Products

Recently, we took coloured pieces of acrylic, then cut and shaped them into “stones”, and then laser engraved and colour-filled one-word inspirations on them. These engraved “stones” would be great for a corporate event to showcase key mission or value proposition words. The “stones” could even be colour-matched to the organization’s colours. Then, the branding or logo could also be laser engraved on the other side of the “stone”.

The best pieces are a combination of acrylic award with embedments and laser engraving on the outside of the award.

When personalizing employee recognition awards, we always recommend laser engraving the recipient’s name on the outside of the award. As experience has shown us, names provided to us can occasionally be misspelled. If the names are laser engraved, then we can always remove it and re-engrave the correct spelling of the name.
